NEW LOOK FOR HOTEL
Following the completion of its modern makeover, Sheffield’s Rutland Hotel has revealed its new bedrooms.
All 63 of the hotel’s en-suite rooms are now finished, including two spectacular executive suites, the Hurlstone Suite and the Dainton Suite.
The work, which has taken place over a period of 14months and cost £1million, has dramatically transformed the Rutland, giving it an interesting mix of Victorian charm and contemporary design.
Each room has been decorated with warm and luxurious fabrics, enhanced by mood lighting to create the perfect atmosphere in which to relax. Other features include 32” LCD TVs and wi-fi.
The outdoor area has also been given a complete makeover, including the landscaped gardens with an attractive water feature to create and idyllic and tranquil setting, and increased car parking facilities.
Peak district hotel and restaurant, The Maynard, is undergoing an ambitious and radical overhaul.
The hotel’s ten rooms are closed for a total revamp which will see the 100-year-old building transformed into a boutique hotel.
Paul Downing, director of The Maynard, said: “Partly we are doing it out of necessity. The rooms were becoming a bit jaded and they looked out of kilter with the restaurant refurbishment.
“Added to that, the 100-year-old plumbing had reached the end of its natural lifespan and we felt that the overall experience of staying in our rooms was falling far short of that offered in the new restaurant.”
By whatever mode of transport you use to travel into Manchester, be it car, train or plane, you’ve probably noticed Beetham Tower, the mammoth structure that arrows up from the city skyline.
The fantastic piece of modern architecture is home to the Hilton Manchester Deansgate. The landmark city centre hotel, characterised by its spiral atrium, offers some of the finest accommodation in the city.
It’s also ideal for business guests with full business centre facilities, including 11 meeting rooms plus the Deansgate suite.
If you choose to relax, the gym, sauna, swimming pool and treatment rooms should fulfil your needs.
The Cloud 23 offers panoramic views of all the city.
The Mount Pleasant Hotel has plenty to celebrate this year with the completion of another stage in its ongoing refurbishment and the 70 th anniversary of the hotel’s ownership by the McIlroy family.
The family bought what was then the Estate House for Rossington Hall on the Great North Road in 1938. Now the hotel has grown into the highest-rated AA four-star hotel in South Yorkshire.
A programme of expansion and refurbishment that began a decade ago has allowed the hotel to offer a standard of accommodation, food and welcome that has further enhanced its reputation and success.
A reception and bar has been created on either side of the front entrance and summer 2009, a spa and additional seven luxury suites will be opened.
Richard McIlroy said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 70 years of family ownership. I am also proud of the way the hotel has evolved, the way it has kept its character and how the new buildings have enhanced and maintained the original house.”
